Actualize: Newsletter subscription in checkout lets customers request a newsletter subscription while placing an order. The extension adds a checkbox below the terms and conditions on the final checkout confirmation page, before the order is submitted.

The plugin checks whether the customer is already subscribed to the newsletter. If an active subscription exists, the checkbox is hidden. When a customer selects the newsletter option, the subscription request is processed only after the order has been completed.

Subscriptions are handled through Shopware’s existing newsletter system. This uses the native recipient management, email templates and confirmation flows. If double opt-in is configured in the shop, the corresponding confirmation process is followed.

The feature can be enabled or disabled in the plugin configuration. German and English translations for the newsletter subscription option are included.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

According to the project documentation, the extension requires Shopware 6.7 or higher and PHP 8.4 or higher. Its template integration is based on the Shopware 6.7 template structure.

A newsletter subscription is processed only when the checkbox is selected and the order has been completed. Double opt-in follows the shop’s configuration; the plugin does not enforce it independently of those settings.
